SERIOUS PIT EQUIPMENT

Most things we once had are either sold out or have become shop equipment. We will likely place some used items in here soon.

P-936 Soldering Station By Hakko

A hot item Racers! As I write this, I have had one for less than a week and am wondering how I got by without it before. I am going to save so much time compared to those bulky and awkward 260 watt gun units I have used for years. Before now, I didn't think a 50 watt iron would be hot enough to handle properly soldering battery bars and such to cells. I figured that by the time a 50 watt iron would solder a bar to the negative end of a cell, that cell would be damaged so bad by overheating you might as well toss it. This is not the case with this unit. To give you an example, I generally like to glue my cells together using a bead of Shoe Goo or a similar product. I do this while placing the cells in my assembly jig before soldering on bars & wires. Others like to tape them together, but I think the glue makes a nicer pack. Taped packs are easier to disassemble. You just pull off the tape, heat to one end of a battery bar and the cell falls right off. On a glued together pack, the whole bar needs to get hot enough to drop straight off on both ends (so the cells can be snapped apart) without overheating and damaging the cells. This 50 watt iron was able to drop bars off for me with more ease than my 260 watt gun! An important note: The stock tip was designed for more delicate work. To be sure you have what is needed for R/C, I have included an optional screwdriver ended tip. This is a high quality unit with many smart features. Enjoy!

Comes Standard with Base, Holder, Sponge and Handle with Pointed Tip. I have also included a flat spade tip with each unit in this price so it is fully ready to service your R/C needs! The flat tip works better for building battery packs and other heavy applications. The Black color unit is our stocked product.
